Abraham Haileamlakis a Consultant Pediatric Cardiologist with over twenty years’ experience in health care service in rural Ethiopia. In the last eleven years, he hasworked in a university teaching hospital. He is a medical educator teaching undergraduate medical, health officer and anesthesia students; and pediatrics residents (Graduate study) and gives clinical service in the university hospital. He also conducted researches and made publications in various pediatric and child health areas. On top of his academic and clinical activity, Dr. Haileamlak is involved in the top leadership of Jimma University, the second biggest University in Ethiopia. He worked as Vice Director of the university hospital from 2001 to 2003 and then vice president of the University since 2003 to 2009. Currently, he is the Dean of College of Public Health and Medical Sciences. He is as well the Editor-In-Chief of Ethiopian Journal of Health Sciences, a peer reviewed journal being published by Jimma University. Nationally, he worked as external examiner of medical students in Addis Ababa, Gondar and Mekelle Universities. He was as well the board member of the Ethiopian Health and Nutrition Research Institute. Internationally he has done researches with Nottingham University, UK and George Washington University and underwent Pediatric Cardiology training in Ludwig Maximilian University, Germany and Wolfson Medical Center in Israel.
