This article reviews the burden of neurological diseases in developing countries and highlights the neurological needs of Ethiopia. The authors suggest ways to improve the number of practicing neurologists and neurological facilities. Specifically, they recommend improving the neurology residency program already in place at Addis Ababa University, training other health professionals in basic neurology, continuing medical education (CME) for neurologists in the country, increasing government commitment to neurological needs, working with neurology societies in Africa and the Task and Advisory Force for Neurology in Africa (TAFNA), and using telemedicine to address neurological needs.
