Professor David Olufemi Olaleye is the Principal Investigator for the MEPI program at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He received his D.V.M and PhD from the University of Ibadan and has dedicated his research focus to virology.
Dr. Olaleye has received several research grants including: UCH PEPFAR Treatment program – a multidisciplinary study evaluating outcome of different antiretroviral regimens for treatment of HIV in setting with predominance of non-subtype B HIV-1 strains, University of Ibadan Multidisciplinary Senate Research Grant on Molecular Epidemiology of Avian Influenza in Nigeria and AIDS Prevention Initiative in Nigeria (APIN) HIV Counseling and Testing among Patients Attending DOTS Centers in Oyo State – a community based study assessing the burden and subtypes of HIV-1 and HIV-2 among patients with tuberculosis in Oyo state of Nigeria.
Dr. Olaleye has over 30 years of experience working as a teacher and researcher at the University of Ibadan. He is a Fellow of the Fogarty International Fellowship Program, studying at the University of California.
