Dykki Settle is the Director, Health Workforce Informatics IntraHealth International / CapacityPlus. He has more than 20 years of experience leading the design and development of innovative technology solutions and has spent the last decade applying this expertise to global health challenges. With a particular interest in open source and health-worker centered solutions, Settle leads the development of innovative open source solutions for the health workforce with IntraHealth International and the USAID global CapacityPlus project. The largest of these is iHRIS—the open source human resources information system software that provides the information health sector leaders needs to assess, plan, and support the health workforce in their countries. Currently the software is supporting more than half a million health worker records in 15 countries. Settle has worked with leaders in more than 20 countries to develop human resources for health information solutions, build absorptive capacity for new health technologies, and support local and regional organizations to utilize the power of open source for global health. Settle began his career as the first webmaster for the SunSITE project—now www.ibiblio.org, one of the earliest, largest, and longest-running online libraries of open resources. Settle is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
